Relationship Goals: Things To Consider
At some point in your relationship, you must have been like
"Where would this lead to?", "What are we going to be in about 6
months or 1 year from now?" Questions such as the aforementioned are
essential in building and keeping your relationship.
Relationship goals are necessary to keep you love affair
alive and successful. Most times, it takes more than money, good looks and a
great body to keep your relationship alive.
This is an opinionated piece on some things to
consider when drafting a relationship goal.
Expectation Creates
Room For Disappointment.
You go into a new relationship expecting certain things.
Mostly, they are things you enjoyed or missed in your previous relationship.
These things takes various forms; constant communication, quality sex,
financial security, attention amongst others. Unconsciously, you're always on
the lookout for these things, which leaves you disappointed when they are
lacking in your relationship.
Be flexible
Are you familiar with the phrase, "Live life one step
at a time"? Yes, that should be the motto of your relationship. Enjoy each
moment with your partner. No two humans are the same, so don't ruin the chance
of a great relationship by expecting too much from your spouse!
No, I'm not asking that you should be blind to reality and
eat whatever junk is served on your plate. No-No!
Be HAPPY.
I spoke with a number of girls who told me they just want to
happy. Now that should be the core of your life/relationship goal! The first
rule of Love says; Love Thyself! Even the Holy Scripture got my back on this
one; Love thy neighbor as you love yourself. In essence, you're not capable of
loving someone if you don't love yourself.
Love Yourself and be Happy!
